It’s a virus that infects human brains and makes people dumb, or as scientists at the University of Nebraska and John’s Hopkins say, “It infects human cognitive functions and spacial awareness.”
It’s called the chlorovirus ATCV-1 and it comes from algae. It was thought humans weren’t prone to be infected by it. That changed after scientists took throat swabs of 93 people and found the virus.
Those who tested positive performed worse on tests designed to measure speed and accuracy of visual processing. They also got lower scores in tests that measure attention.
